Changing of the Guard
Guards protect Buckingham Palace every day of the year. You can imagine that they get tired after a while. That is why there are two groups of guards which change places. This way one group of guards is protecting the Palace (the New Guard), while the other group can rest (the Old Guard). The changing places is accompanied by a Guards music band. The music played differs from traditional military marches to songs from films and musicals and even familiar pop songs.
